Obama to take on the Gun lobby?

Press conference scheduled for tomorrow to outline ways to reduce gun crime.
He obviously can't do an awful lot on just the few months he has left but his plans are expected to be making gun sellers to ask more than just 'are you mad or a criminal'.
Not sure how it will go down with the Fox News believing rednecks. They'll probably shoot up a school to prove Obama wrong.

According to CNN........ Between 2001 and 2013 there were 3380 Americans killed globally in terrorist activity. In the same period 406,496 people were killed on American soil in firearm activity.
That's a pretty worrying statistic. Especially as the terrorist number includes the World Trade Centre event.

I see Trump has come out and said, if he gets in any changes that Obama has made will be his first priority to reverse.
Expect he already had the gun vote anyway but if nothing else it will hopefully prompt the more normal and sane Americans to ensure they vote Democrat, as if this cunt gets in, its going to be a nightmare.

Spoke to a relative in LA who is pro gun. Father was a gun dealer and used to teach on the range, go deer hunting, taught him when he was six.
He said he is anti Trump, but that if as Trump said everyone in the Paris theatre was armed the cowards who did it would have not taken on a room full of armed people who would have shot back.
He also said that in Arizona everyone has the right to wear their loaded weapon on them at all times and there is very little crime? Sounds like the Wild West!

The US has 3 branches of Government. The executive's job is not to legislate. He tried to pass laws in congress but got voted down, including by members of his own party, who, presumably are not 'Fox News believing rednecks' but more likely BBC believing morons.
Of course criminals don't purchase their weapons from dealers so, as even ABC news here is admitting, none of the mass shootings in the recent past would have been prevented by these new "proposals " Not one.
But, of course, this isn't about saving lives it's about pursuing an agenda (against those who 'cling to their religion and guns')
Because, there is of course something Democrats could do legally but, for political reasons refuse to do. Per the Huffington post (even more left wing than the BBC) "Nationwide, the black homicide victimization rate in 2011 was 17.51 per 100,000. The overall national homicide victimization rate was 4.44 per 100,000, and among white Americans, the homicide victimization rate was 2.64 per 100,000."
The vast majority of that black on black crime is in Democrat controlled cities that have very strict gun laws. Introduce stop and frisk (as Giuliani did in NY) and the murder rate drops markedly. Why do you think he's not proposing that?

The president does have a lot of power in the us for executive actions, they are well established and have been used frequently by other presidents.
The call for some modest restrictions has popular support. recent spree killers has all bought their guns legally (and are largely of the gun nut variety.
The agenda IS saving lives. In case you hadn't noticed spree killing and a terrorist act have prompted this.
They don't have strict gun laws any more. Higher crime in inner cities which tend to be progressive, shock horror. It's ridiculously easy to move guns across borders.
I lived in DC for year and back then couldn't own a gun, but at 15 minute metro ride took me to Virginia, where I could, pretty easily
His executive action won't do much and isn't enough, but it's a least a small step in the right direction.

What is needed is to enforce laws already on the books and take away illegal guns from criminals...
That would save more lives than what he is proposing...
But as most of the illegal guns are proportionately owned by African American and Hispanic criminals...he won't do it...as he hasn't the balls to go against his and democratic ethnic support groups who voted for him....
Would save thousands of lives a year...
In parallel increase the checks and controls and close the loopholes of Gun Shows...Gun Dealers...and straw men purchasing for 3rd parties...
Basically...too many guns in USA...and most are illegal and not registered...in the hands of criminals drug traffickers and gangs...
Population...320 million...245million over 18...
Estimated number of guns excluding military and all police and law enforcement...well over 320 million...some estimates say 350 million...
Unbelievable...an the reason there are so many gun crimes and shootings...
Gun ownership is far too easy legally...and of course illegally...
Obama's current actions are like the kid sticking his finger in the dike trying to stop the flood...
Too little...too ineffective...too late...in my opinion...
